It's official. Former assistant coach Larry Yarbray is Chester High's new head boys' basketball coach. Chester athletic director Jeffery Legette confirmed that Yarbray's hiring was approved last night at a meeting of the Chester-Upland school board.

The Chester High basketball program is treated like a precious jewel by the community in the small Southeastern Pennsylvania city.

Assistant coach Larry Yarbray is expected to be approved as Chester High's head boys' basketball coach tomorrow at a meeting of the Chester-Upland school board, a source close to the situation said.

The Princeton Prize in Race Relations honored high school students who bridged racial divides in their communities in 21 metropolitan areas this year, the sixth for the award.
